There was somebody looking for something like this... I'll have to see if I can find the thread....

That's a real haul for me. I don't really need the course, but I'm always curious to see what the NRA puts forth as a curriculum.

Anyone know what will be covered? I'd hate to pay $75 and make the drive only to find out it's nothing I don't already know.

If they include a thousand primers, powder and bullets I'm in!

Response received, sounds like a good course for beginners and for the $

    Dear Mr. King,

The NRA Basic Metallic Cartridge Reloading Course comprehensively teaches all aspects of safely, economically and efficiently reloading rifle and pistol ammunition. Each student is taught reloading safety, centerfire cartridge components, using the reloading manual and reloading data, equipment needed for reloading and the metallic cartridge reloading process. I bring five full sets of reloading equipment covering a broad range of cost and quality, numerous accessories and additional tools and a tremendous amount of powder, primers, cases and bullets.

Participants will receive the NRA Guide to Reloading handbook, the Basic Reloading Student Exam, a course completion certificate, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, and NRA Basic Firearm Training Program brochure. Also, I will distribute current product catalogs from over a dozen reloading equipment and component manufacturers, the 2013 Hodgdon Basic Reloading Manual and various manufacturers’ promotional stickers and souvenir items. I will also provide some technical information and charts regarding the use of old military ammunition, required twist rates for stabilizing vs. bullet weight by caliber, precision die setting labels and several others. All participants will also receive a $10 Gift Card from Sinclair International and have a chance to win one of two 50% off coupons from Redding Reloading.

Thank you for your interest. Please email or call if you have any other questions.

    Tom

Yeah it sounds like its a BEGINNER class, but good stuff for a lot of people out there, I'm sure. If i were a beginner and close to where this is going down, I would probably jump on it.

This MIGHT be good for people without the Internet, but I learned in a month pretty darn comprehensively from the Internet and books (and NYF ), because they are always available. $75 seems a bit high for a one-off class. When I was learning I needed to go back to stuff days later, especially when I actually started physically doing it. A good bit of "Oh, THAT's why you do that" stuff...

Can you believe the same class is being offered on Long Island for $165
No "lunch and refreshments" included at that class!
Geography does play a role in determining the cost.
