    Default NYFirearms Database Error

I have been trying to do a search on the site for the last few days. &nbsp;I input just about anything in the search box, but the only thing that gets returned is "<table cellpadding="3" cellspacing="5" id="container" style="width: 400px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;; font-size: medium;" width="400"><tbody><tr><td><img src="http://nyfirearms.com/forums/image.php?type=dberror" alt="Database Error" style="width: 48px" height="48"></td><td id="bodytitle" width="100%" style="font-stretch: normal; font-size: 13pt; line-height: 15pt; font-family: verdana, arial, sans-serif; height: 35px; vertical-align: top;">Database error</td></tr><tr><td class="bodytext" colspan="2" style="font-stretch: normal; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 11pt; font-family: verdana, arial, sans-serif;">The NY Firearms database has encountered a problem."<br><br><span style="color:#fff0f5;">Anyone know what is going on? &nbsp;I tried on multiple platforms (smartphone and tablet, as well as 2 different computers in different locations using different connections - still no dice. &nbsp;Getting annoying! &nbsp;I want to ask folks for input on something, but really didnt wanna get the "try searching the forums" lecture that sometimes happens...</span></td></tr></tbody></table><br>

This is happening all over the place - if you've seen a lot of duplicate posts, this is why. For whatever reason, database errors keep popping up when actions are taken on the forum (searches, posts, etc). The admin team is aware of the issue.

Posts tend to take, meaning while it returns DB error, the posts are posted... hence the rampant repeat posting that has been happening.

I think it's being worked on. I notified the management a few times in the last week.

Maybe related but the 'last post by' and number of replies on the main forums is pretty screwed up for me. Threads will say 0 or 1 response from 2 weeks ago and Ill go in and theres 10 replies with some being just a day ago.

    Hi,

One that I started was under the pistol permit section named "Approved Pistol Permit Onondaga County".

I also see a little banner on the main page that says I do not have any posts even though I have a few now. This is also preventing me from seeing certain sections of the forum like the marketplace.

I see that Cipher's post count (shown in the post above) is showing as 1, but searching his posts provides two results.

Running a rebuild tool on site data. Should hopefully recalculate post counts for both users and sections. Process will take a couple hours, so I'll check back later after it's complete

Rebuild finished and no change in your post count cipher. Might need a more intensive straightening out of things.

On the plus side. My post in this thread posted after the database error fix gave me a post count so at lease I can browse the market section now. So, there's that at least.

Glad to hear. If you see any again, please grab a screenshot and if possible the approx time when this happened, and the actions you were taking.

    Thanks,

May not mean anything but your post count seems to always be 134.

I see that our post count has been bumped up to 135.

Have you noticed this on any other members?

This hasn't come up in awhile, but we did some straightening out of things over the weekend and I wanted to check and see if anyone has noticed any improvement
