    Default The Original "Assault Weapon"?

The "Assault Weapon" From 1780 - Bearing Arms - Assault Weapons, Girandoni, Video

Technically it was an air rifle, but hey, still pretty cool.

Lewis and Clark used this rifle on their expidition. theyactually recharged the air cylinder for this rifle via an arm that was hooked up to the wagon wheel to operate the hand pump because it took like a million stokes by hand.

Saw the NRA video on YouTube for it that a while ago. VERY cool, and I'm trying to figure out how a high-tech repeater like that never saw wider use. And I don't even think it was that much more expensive, either.

Just one of those things, I guess.

I hear tell napoleon's troops would shoot an austrian on sight if he was carrying one of these.
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”

Assault is a tactic and it has nothing to do with the weapon. They are two words that should describe an action and not an object.
