Default Bought the new Ruger MKIII 22/45 on Sat. Here comes another Fun Build :)

Bought a new Ruger 22/45 on Sat.
Sent the amendment in today hopefully only a few days.

The new Ruger 22/45 has a polymer grip and all the features of a 1911 platform.
    My goal is a 22cal target/race gun.

Here is a pic before I start ordering and building

Maybe I can save you some money before it's too late. If you have the polymer frame 22/45, don't invest in the Volquartsen hammer and sear upgrade. I tried it in mine and it never functioned properly, it would occasionally double fire with one trigger pull or the hammer would not stay cocked when the slide cycled. The whole frame and kit was at Volquartsen twice to try to remedy the problem, I eventually removed the parts and only kept the trigger in the gun. I think the problem is the polymer frame is flexible enough and the holes in the frame for the pins that hold the sear are loose enough that the sear moves and can't reliably hold the hammer. The kits work very well in the steel framed 22/45s, I shoot with a fellow who installed one in his and it works great, nice light trigger pull and a crisp let off.

Ordered my Solutions Barrel, Custom 1911 Grips, and Red Dot.
Barrel on order gonna be 3 weeks for that.
At least I can get used to the gun and red dot in the mean time.

    Let the build begin!
Should have my amendment set and gun home by Monday

    Default WooHoo

Alright picked up the gun today and hit the range.
Ran 200 flawless rounds through her.
Extremely accurate with stock irons sights.
Installed the Red Dot and started sighting her in.
Can't wait till grips and Tactical Solutions Barrel Comes!!!
    Here are a few pics.

I ran 40grain CCI Blazer through her

That's a great looking gun! A 22/45 is definitely on my wish list. Was the target you posted with the iron sights or the red dot? Also what range were you shooting at?

The cheapo red dot I installed. Those are the first rounds fired through the gun.
    I was shooting 3,7,and 15 yards.
Iron sights at 7 yards was more accurate than the red dot

Can not wait til the Tactical Solutions barrel comes!!!
