Default Shot my first fall turkey....

It was much easier than I expected. But I'll never be allowed in Wal-Mart's frozen food section again !

Walmart wouldn't have made such a commotion over it if you hadn't needed 3 shots to hit it!!!!!!

congrats, i got one last saturday. I prefer to hunt them in the fall. My favorite way to eat wild turkey: soak in brine for 12-24 hours, then smoke it. VERY tasty that way.
I can post a link to the brine recipe if ur interested.

lmao! I like a good cajun style rub inside and out, then brown it quick then turn down the heat and cover it and cook it slow.. My wife and her whole family (not really the wild game type) prefers my wild turkey over all others.. although that brining and smoking HAS to be awesome..
