Cant spare the duckets for it at this point but i do have a question. What is required to legally own and fire a barrett .50in NYS? and where the hell would you go shooting with it lol?
it's a preban, so it's ny legal. i have a relative that had a large farm. it used to have a 1000 yard range there, and several woodchucks that needed my personal attention.
.50 cals have not yet been banned in NYS so they are perfectly legal. Since it is a centerfire rifle you could even hunt deer with it if you wanted
As far as where to go to fire it - there are several ranges that permit .50 BMG's on the range, Pathfinder in Fulton is one as well as some ranges out on Long Island as I am sure others allow them too.
no felon here. it can shoot long range, but you don't have to. i shot up 2 old computer monitors at 100 yards once. glass went everywhere. i think i have a video of it somewhere.
While I don't have a video of shooting computer monitors, I do have a few videos shooting other things. Mostly handloaded spotter tracers, since they're less likely to overpenetrate and ricochet, not to mention fun.
Here's the .50 shooting to about 350 yards with the spotter-tracers. YouTube - .50 and Tannerite
And here's a video on my friend's account shooting some ravioli. YouTube - Exploding With Flavor
I did try some RNSPs, designed for much lower velocity, on a rotten apple once. That was certainly interesting, as it didn't appear to hit the berm, and there was no trace of any apple whatsoever. Unfortunately, I don't think there's any video of that.

They're a detachable-magazine semi-auto with a pistol grip and a threaded muzzle.
Though a year or two ago, there was a dealer with the M82CQ on their table, so either they're pinning the brakes, or someone's pinning them to bring them in.
