I will back this legislation, but I need this line added to it:

"To ensure no citizen will accidentally violate this law, "protected" officials will announce their presence by wearing 2000-foot hoop-skirts at all times"

I really have to wonder if they think these laws will work in the way they intend, or if they're just doing things so they look busy? Besides, 330yds? Hardly out of range for just about anything other than a slingshot. lol

This is the dumbest idea yet.

Someone has decided to commit MURDER but they are going to be deterred by a WEAPONS charge? Really? Is Congressman King really that stupid?

John already said he isn't going to humor this piece of legislation and stated that NO firearm restriction legislation will go under his gavel.

The Republican party should rescind Peter King's party membership - or less drastic just threaten to no allow GOP funding for his re-election.

That's a stupid sort of purity test and I think you know it.

Whatever else his faults are Congressman King voted for John Boehner as Speaker. He caucuses with the Republicans. As long as they control the chamber the likes of Nancy Pelosi (whom I know you dislike more than King) have little power.

Go ahead and pull the rug out from under him if it makes you feel better though. In two years you'll see a Democrat sitting in his seat.

That isn't stupid - its based on his obvious lack of respect for the 2A and his previous past dealings with known terrorists. I don't want someone like that in my party.

after thinking about this for awhile, I think this is a "feel good" waste of time.

It's an unenforceable waste of time and money. It does NOTHING to help get illegal guns off the street or punish criminals.

When these "educated" people come up with a plan that has some means of punishing criminals, give me a call
