Default Legal to sell ammo FTF?

I have some excess I was thinking of selling. Then it occurred to me to read into whether it was legal or not to do so. Thanks for your thoughts.

Only legal if it's given away as a gift

Lucky for you, I'd be happy to help

While I didn't notice his post count, there is no rule barring me from buying anything from anyone.

The rule is he cannot post in the marketplace until 50 posts. Soooo yah.

I have never heard any restriction on selling or buying ammunition through private parties. The only restriction I have heard of is manufacturing it to sell.

FTF would be a private transaction. You of course would want to know the person you are selling it to is not a convicted felon or mentally unstable. Did I forget anyting else?

I didn't realize that a felon could not buy ammunition, is that true? I hope that is true, I guess it would be hard to regulate unless they start doing a NICS on ammo.

Anyone 18 or older can buy rifle ammo. Doesn't matter if you're a felon or not. There is no requirement to check. At least not now.

I also thought anyone over 18 could buy ammo FTF whether in a store or from a private individual.

I put those comments in there to protect oneself in the event it would come back to haunt the OP.

i foresee a lot of private sales of ammo in the future if "internet sales" are banned. and i also foresee myself buying a lot of it.

Im probably going to hang on to it anyway, now that im reading online ammo sales will be banned in NY. seems it will be a major pain to get ammo going forward.
