Default Assault Weapon Ban List and Safe Act PDF's Removed From The NYS Police Site

The complete list of banned guns has been there for the past few days as were the links to the pdf files with all the bill text. All of it is gone now.

    Don't be worried or anything

They just found more firearms to add, and might need a separate website to cram them all into.

Or it may just be a headline saying - TURN IN ALL FIREARMS by end of year.

Or it might have been confusing people, and they figured it's better not to have the information listed rather than cause panic.

Laws shouldn't confuse the populace if we're meant to abide by them.

I'm sure they forgot a few

Do you really think, the way this Statute was written, that the lawmakers care that it confuses people ..??

It's my understanding that the law as written failed to exempt law officers.

Guys, there is no reason to remove the list if they are just updating it. It takes 1/10 of a second to replace a file on a web server. There is something else to this.

He's correct they wouldnt have to take the whole thing down just to update it. The way i see it there were 2 reasons to take it down... 1. The list does not adhere to the current bill, and was only causing mass confusion among gun owners or, 2. They took it down for the time being, and 1/30 amended parts of the bill will be updated to include firearms by name. In which case an updated list will be posted adding anything they missed and removing things that shouldn't have been listed in the first place.

    Just my opinion of course.

The guys in charge of the NYSP helped craft the law and stood behind Fuhrer Blow-mo when he signed the act. Highly unlikely that any NYSP are going to stand up against the bill in any way.
