    Default worst expeirence EVAAAR

so usually i have no issues at wal mart in greece but last night was a whole other story.

i was doing some other random shopping for stuff i needed around the house and i make it a habbit of every time i stop at wally world , gander mt, dicks etc i grab a couple boxes of ammo.

so i get my other shopping done and go to sporting goods. nobody is around. i find a box boy and ask him to have someone paged cause i need assistance in sporting goods. i hear the page over the pa.

ten min go by and nobody is around. i go find a different box boy and ask him to page again. i hear it over the pa.

another 15 min goes by and nobody to be seen. so i walk up to the front registers and say i have been waiting at sporting goods and nobody has shown up they say sorry and page one more time.

so a total of 35 min goes by of me waiting patiently at sporting goods.

in that time i noticed they had a sign posted that to buy handgun ammo you have to be 21 and have a valid drivers lisence. to buy and other ammo you have to be at least 18 with a valid drivers lisence.

so i am getting fed up and start being immature. i start talking really loud. "accidentally" knocking stuff off shelves and then finally i take out my cell phone and search for wally worlds phone number on google and call the store. this was the conversation:

"hello, and thank you for calling greece walmart, how can i help you?"

"yes, i am actually in your store right now and i have been waiting in sporting goods for 45 min, and i have heard people being paged to come help me but still nobody around"

"umm umm umm hang on one moment sir"

over the pa i hear " can a mananger please pick up line two"

i listened to two songs on hold and i hear over the pa again " can a manager please pick up line two"

finally the same lady picks up the phone and says " sir im so sorry i will have someone come help you immediately" doesnt wait for a response and then hung up.

i hear over the pa " jon, please report to sporting goods, a customer has been waiting for 45 min"

another 5 min goes by and i walk up to the customer service desk and explain to them what just happened and that i will wait here so someone can fallow me back to sporting goods.

finally a guy comes up and walks back with me, i tell him which ammo i want and he has no idea what im talking about so i say "the white box with the pretty red letters on it" he then trys to ring me out and doesnt have access to the register so he says we have to wait for someone.

i was like seriously??? cant you just walk it up to the front ??

he says yes, but first he has to see my lisence so i show him my drivers lisence. he goes no your pistol lisence. so i point out that the sign says i only need a drivers lisence. he said no its nys law i have to show a permit. i told him no he was wrong and that its wally worlds policy and since it is there policy it should be posted. i showed him my permit and he then asks me if im 21. i laughed dont you have to be 21 to have a pistol lisence?? he siad " oh yea sorry"

because of this bull**** i dont care if they are giving away free ammo , i am not going into that store ever again. i dont even know why i waited as long as i did. what ever happened to customer service??? i understand that little ol me not shopping there anymore isnt going to hurt them at all but wtf do your job people.

    end rant.

    i feel better now lol

The problem is they have the guy working sporting goods, toys, paint, womens intimates, and baby clothes. So, you have to get lucky to have someone make it from across the store to help you without being stopped by someone else on the way.

About a month ago, while waiting with my wife and children at the fabrics counter, another lady did the same thing and called the store and said we were waiting. She actually cut her own fabric and waited for someone to print out the receipt.

Ah Dan that's nothing - they called the cops on me over a dispute at the photo center about 5-years ago lol.

Dispute being they wouldn't let me take my prints because they said a professional photographer took them... Despite showing them my camera with the card with the images still on it they insisted I am not allowed to reprint my photos... They also said I could have stolen the card and/or camera from the photographer...

I hate that place so much...

FYI - when the police did show up he in a nicer way asked them if they were stupid and told them to give me the photos... Ffs I even had vacation photos on that cameras card lol

The Brockport store is totally opposite. I purchased ammo there three times in the past month, someone was always right there to help, and never even asked for my permit or DL license.

I'll keep away from the Greece store.

I can certainly understand your frustration, but acting like an adolescent kid will never help a situation. It is interesting to see how people behave when they become stressed. My 8 year old son pulls this move on occasion too when he can't get the shiny new toy at the store, it never works for him either.

Do you think that behavior helped?
Do you think the other shoppers have a better opinion of "Gun People" after watching your little act?

Did you pick up the stuff you knocked over or did the folks that work there have to clean up after your little temper tantrum?

actually yes me acting like that did help. i got my ammo and second there was no other shoppers , which is one of the reasons i was soo pissed. it was like a ghost town there but yet there were employees in almost every isle every time i asked them for help they told me they couldnt, i guess box boys arent givin any responsibilities.

and the only person there that knew i was a "gun person" was the retard who took my ammo out of the case ( which he did not see me act that way) and the cashier who was very nice, knew nothing about the whole ordeal and actually made me not as mad when i left.

and as far as the stuff i knocked over, yes i did pick it back up

oh yea and when i was 8 and acted like that i got whatever i want, and now im almost thirty and i still do

why is it that i never have a great time like this?

my experience at the Amherst location on NFB, is that the guy talks my ear off till I can sneak away. I never expect anything more then a "these?" in response to buying something, BUT there was a guy they had in a wheel chair there and I use to talk with him forever about fishing and he was pretty good about advice.

you get what you pay for, on that statement...

I bought a 18.5 barrel for my mossburg 500 at the Buffalo Gun Center. (*cough* 15 more then online but I prefeer to keep money local) I dont know if they started to listen to their complaints online, or were passing around the happy helmet BUT they were actually pleasant to be around. Oh did I say helpful.... they were that too. (it was the old guy thats always at the cash register....)

    wasnt a full moon either!

Guess he didn't see this. Pretty much the same thing that happened to Sprout. He took family photos and they didn't want to print them because they were too professional. He ran a photography business for a long time.

I don't think it was, we don't go to that one much. But, they all look the same on the inside so I can't say for sure that it wasn't. If it was, it was nice to meet you too.

Well yes actually. Walmart pretty much hands them out to anybody that complains. But that aside, I was referring to his lengthy wait time and the inability of the employees to help him. I admit knocking stuff off the shelves was a bit immature.

I worked for walmart for years. and after I left It has gotten bad. I Keep shopping their . I know where everything is. And if I need ammo I just find someone I know. You cant argue the fact that Walmart has the best price on ammo even better than online.

    It's true. $23 for a 100 round box of 9mm is insane.

Even more insane when you can go to a local gun shop like Beikirchs or Fred's place and get it for abotu the same or less - and support a local business too!

What boggles my mind is that people still buy ammo in stores at all!! I would have to say that a vast majority of people on this forum shoot their guns more than the average gun owner. If you figured how to join a forum, check out these websites:

    www.ammoman.com
    www.ammotogo.com

Those are the only websites I buy ammo from, cheaper than a store, no sales tax and it gets delivered right to my front door. Why bother buying 4 boxes here, 2 boxes there? Just buy either 500 or 1,000 rounds and your good to go!!!!

BTW, Walmart in Greece is terrible, the employees dress & look worse than the customers--figure that one out!
