Orchard Park homeowner, son hold attempted burglary suspects at gunpoint - City & Region - The Buffalo News
Two Lancaster men attempting to break into a home on Transit Road in Orchard Park early Monday were held at gunpoint for police, Orchard Park police said.
Jacob Rappleye, 18, and Anthony Guarino, 22, are charged with attempted burglary, criminal mischief and unlawful possession of marijuana. During arraignment, Rappleye was released on bail, and Guarino was sent to Erie County Holding Center in lieu of bail.
Orchard Park police said the two, dressed in dark clothing, tried to break into the house by extending a ladder to a second-story window. Orchard Park police were alerted at about 1 a.m., and while en route, they learned the suspects were being held at gunpoint, said police. They added that the homeowner and his son had heard a noise outside the house and confronted the two.
The incident remains under investigation, police said.
