    Default PA Permit Multi State

This is most likely a re-post, but for anyone who did not see this.
Here is a link to Centre PA's "Application For A Pennsylvania License To Carry Firearms".
For those of you who do not know. If you have a NY CCW permit you can fill this out, send it back with $26 bucks and recieve a permit that allows cc in 26 states.

26? Where did that info come from?

I can't get to handgunlaw.us from here at work but I think it's a lot less.

According to handgunlaw.us its 25 total. That includes of course the same 14 the NY permit gets you. Still though , I guess if you don't have a florida or utah permit then 26 bucks some photocopies and a stamp isn't bad for 11 more states.

I have a Pa, Fl and of course a NY CCW and after taking Rich's Utah class I anticipate (potentially I'm wrong but not by my calculations) the ability to carry in 44 of the 50 states.

Also for those interested NH and Connecticut also offer CCW's for NY'rs it's a simple process and not very expensive.

    Just an FYI.

I think you ment Dave's class, not Rich's. I haven't heard of Rich offering a Utah class.

NH is easy. Three friends and $20. Right now their at around 3 to 4 months.
I think NH only honors a resident permit from PA. I know that NH only honors a resident permit from Florida and Utah, non-resident permits from these states are not valid.

BTW everyone, be on the lookout for a guy from Canada doing Utah permit classes. I'd rather give my hard earned cash to someone from the good ol USA.........

How is CT? I'm going there this summer so I was going to apply for a permit. With a clean record should I have a problem getting one? I need to apply soon so I have it before I go there.

I have spoken with CT and they are helpful as far as applications go.

You should have no problem, just do the paperwork and wait.

I don't head in that direction so I don't need one but if I decide to take one of the ferries to Long Island I will send in my application.

Now I just travel uninterrupted through NYC (locked, unloaded, in trunk) until I hit the Nassau county line.

Get them now, before sheriffs or judges change in the states that hand them out.

Can someone (jeff, dave, etc) put together a thread with a good way to get the most states possible? Maybe we have one and I missed it. I'm a little slow with the pistol info. I would like to know where I should apply to next and in what order. thanks!

There are hub states that will alow you to carry in multiple states. I think florida and georgia are 2. Some states respect only permits they issue, so you can never carry there, illinois?. It is possible to go cross country and be legit. You have to get a bunch of permits though and drive around a few states.

Utah and Florida are the two juicy ones right now. NY will get you a few, but the others work out better. There will be a lot of overlap, so do not worry about being redundant. There just happens to be a few core states that will accept most permits. Use the NRA's site as well. Luke over at usacarry.com is busy and it is tough for him to keep up as fat as things change.

Ideally, I want to be able to carry if I drive down to visit my father-in-law in Alabama.

There is some info here on easy ones to get...
    http://www.nyfirearms.com/forums/carry-conceal/non-resident-permits-(pennsylvania-and-new-hampshire)/

NH went up to $100 though.

Utah is easy to get now that there are local instructors for the class. Utah and Florida have the most resiprosity.

I have NY (of course), Fl, PA and NH.

If going anywhere you still have to know each state's CC rules, as to need to notify police if stopped and where you can carry CC (restaurants etc.). NJ-MD and DC are your biggest obstacles when heading south. Avoid them or carry unloaded, including magazines and locked up in a travel safe, in the trunk as you make a non-stop trip into and out of these states.

South Carolina like Florida accepts certain non-resident permits only if you are from that state (NOT NY) However in SC you can carry a loaded handgun in the glove box or console of your vehicle without a permit.

If going down I would get Florida since Florida is a no-go with NY permit or any non-res unless it it your home state. That is, if you have a NH non-res permit and live in NY-Florida does not allow you to CC.

Alabama honors non-resident permits from NH and FL.

Always check with state statutes for current reciprocity regulations as they do change....
