    Default Yet Another AR Build

    Well...

When Allstar did the original AR Lower order I jumped in knowing not a dam thing about AR's and man what an addiction I have never done crack but this is a rush. I gotta imagine it is just like it. I can spend thousands of dollars just to shoot up. I bought the lower so I could peice it together and build it on my time and my budget. Although with the wedding the idea of selling it all put togehter has crossed my mind but i think after I might build another.

Well I got a chance to shoot it on Sunday. I like it.

The only thing that bothers me is I can hear the spring moving inside the buffer tube and its driving me crazy. Anyone have any ideas to dampen the noise or is this just somehting these rifles normally do?

Only did 40 rounds cause thats all I had but it will get mroe use shortly.

I also got some glass for it, borrowing from a friend for right now.

if you dont like the spring noise you could always just get a piston operated upper (the ones with the shortened bolts) for the AR. Olympic arms makes piston operated carbines with folding stocks but I am sure you could pick one up out of state and swap out the stocks or have someone pin it.
A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government.

Not ALL AR's make that noise

Solution to your problem is the AC4 Pneumatic Buffer by Oly arms.
Rainier Arms, LLC™ | Browse | Replacement Parts - Lower | Olympic Arms Pneumatic Recoil Buffer for A2 Stocks

Make sure you get the right length, car or A2 tube length.

It is a gas piston that removes the need for a spring/buffer combo so therefore no spring noise during operation if it really bothers you

I am told these are nice but can short stroke if using sub-sonic or light loads.

Spikestactical.com has a bunch of different sayings but I loved it and had to have it.

Really thinking about selling it but I bet I could never get back what I have into it unfortunately.

Very nice ar! The guys at Allstar are really very helpfull.
Does the charging handle rub on the foam cover on the Ace stock? Some people have told me about their Ace stocks getting chewed up by the charging handle.

The spring noise is normal. Actually, you can hear a difference on the final round when the bolt locks back. It's a good sound.

Tink, The charging handle clears the stock with no running at all I heard this before I bought the stock but I havent had any problems at all. If I think about it I will pull the handle back and take a pic with clearance to show you.

    Thanks for the compliments.
