ATTENTION MONROE COUNTY GUN OWNERS

The following was copied from this thread.  Please ask any questions in that thread so that the original poster can respond to them.

ATTENTION MONROE COUNTY GUN OWNERS

WE NEED YOU TO ATTEND THE MONROE COUNTY LEGISLATURE MONTHLY MEETING ON MAY 8 6PM AT THE MONROE COUNTY OFFICE BUILDING 39 W. MAIN ST. ROCHESTER.

Currently, Monroe County parks law bans all firearms in all county parks. We have been working on changing this law for a few years and had a deal worked out for the change to be voted on at the June legislature session. We are now getting information that some in the republican party are getting cold feet on making this change. They seem to think passing it at this time will hurt Maggie Brooks chances of defeating Louise Slaughter. They have used similar excuses for years.

I will be at the May 8 meeting to speak as will others but we need a large crowd of gun owners there for support. The legislative chambers will only seat 75 but an overflow crowd into the hallways and stairways would be desirable and add impact to any remarks by myself and others. Please make an effort to be there.

NYFirearms

NYFirearms.com was founded in 2008 by Mike Centola and Jeff Wiedrick as a response to a lack of discussion forums for New York State firearms owners. Originally the intent was solely for a discussion forum, but it quickly developed into an extremely informative blog-based site, incorporating firearms news, reviews, and events.

On Monday, March 28, the Senate Codes Committee voted along party lines to defeat a mandatory storage bill that would have forced gun owners to lock up their firearms, thereby rendering those firearms useless in self-defense situations.  S.04291, sponsored by state Senator Liz Krueger (D-28), would have imposed felony penalties for failing to keep guns […]

Cuomo bans non-essential state travel to N. Carolina

Albany, N.Y. – Following the enactment of a controversial law in North Carolina, Governor Andrew Cuomo has banned all non-essential state travel to North Carolina. The law in question bans individuals from using restrooms that do not match the gender indicated on their birth certificates. Opponents argue the measure discriminates against members of the LGBT […]
