Are you a Monroe County resident? Do you know that on March 12, 2013 at 6pm the legislature is supposed to decide whether or not they want to officially oppose the SAFE Act. Did you also know that unlike every other county out there they don’t plan on actually voting on it. There is just going to be a place for the legislators to sign to symbolically do this. The Republicans in the county are too afraid to actually step up and stand for whats right!!
“We need to have 50-100 people sign up to speak in favor of a vote against SAFE, keep them there all night listening to us. Maybe then they will get the message and actually take a stand.Watch Full Movie Online Streaming Online and Download
You can call 585-753-1950 to sign up to speak at the public forum before the legislature meeting. You’ll have two minutes to speak and all you have to do is urge them to have that vote.”
Once again we are asking you to come to the Monroe Co. Legislative meeting on July 10th 6pm Monroe Co. Office building 39 W. Main St. Rochester 4th floor.
At the June meeting we had a great turnout of speakers and enough supporters for loud supportive applause.
WE NEED TO DO BETTER at the July meeting. We hope to have some media coverage at this meeting so a large turnout is essential.
As a refresher, the issue is a change to the county parks law that bans all firearms. We are seeking a change to allow licensed concealed carry in the parks.
The Republican leadership, Bill Reilich and Maggie Brooks, are blocking this legislation from making it to the floor for debate and vote because they think it is to controversial an issue for this crucial election cycle.
We plan to be there every month on this issue but July is a key event, so please make every effort to be there and to spread the word.

ATTENTION MONROE COUNTY GUN OWNERS
WE NEED YOU TO ATTEND THE MONROE COUNTY LEGISLATURE MONTHLY MEETING ON MAY 8 6PM AT THE MONROE COUNTY OFFICE BUILDING 39 W. MAIN ST. ROCHESTER.
Currently, Monroe County parks law bans all firearms in all county parks. We have been working on changing this law for a few years and had a deal worked out for the change to be voted on at the June legislature session. We are now getting information that some in the republican party are getting cold feet on making this change. They seem to think passing it at this time will hurt Maggie Brooks chances of defeating Louise Slaughter. They have used similar excuses for years.
I will be at the May 8 meeting to speak as will others but we need a large crowd of gun owners there for support. The legislative chambers will only seat 75 but an overflow crowd into the hallways and stairways would be desirable and add impact to any remarks by myself and others. Please make an effort to be there.
