Since my Grease vs. Oil thread was so much fun, I figured I'd ask about old-school B-C Barricade. I remember this and Hoppes was a staple in my dads gun cleaning kit.
I see it for sale, but I hardly see it mentioned on any sites...maybe theres a reason for that?
Anyway, thought I'd throw it out there for opinions...
I've used it for years on my blued firearms that end up out in the rain. No rust problems. Slightly slick but much better than oil/grease as a firearm protectant. I like the aerosal cans when spraying springs, inside magazine tubes and interior surfaces that do not require lubricant for moving parts.
I have a Beretta O/U I regularly shoot trap with in the rain, Baricade Yes; rust zero.
It's a great protectant to use at the end of the season when you won't be using the gun for a few months. Rusty Duck is another good one.
