    Default .50cal Carbine??

Ok .. so ... I get a .50cal and it turns out to be a Traditions BuckSkinner and not a BuckStalker. Now I have this pretty neat little .50cal ML. Not an inline which is cool and it's in really nice condition. Is there any real purpose to a carbine ML'er?? Something worth hangin onto for awhile as a collectible in say 100 years or something?? Why are they made so short?? (21" barrel) I can't find much info on them. Anyone have knowledge of or own one of these??

that is a pretty nifty rifle... I could see a practical use for it with hunting... short rifles are much easier to tote through heavy brush than long rifles

That was my first thought was just plain ease of handling in thick stuff through the woods but ... a carbine ML'er? It just seems weird to see it with the full size ML'er next to it. Looked like one of those old style wooden one's you'd buy in Lake George as a souvenir. You know, the kind with a rubber band on top?
