    Default My New Shop

Hah!!! well it will be after a while. My wife and I built our last stop and this is the space I staked out for my gun shop. Its going to be a lot of work getting it to where I want it, I can't work like I use to, and I keep sitting around enjoying the view, but I haven't made anything in five months and the need to create something is too powerful to be denied! So, nose to the wheel I will drive on!! Next gun will be for myself and powerful incentive to get a move on, a .58 cal., Lehigh Valley, Rupp type gun with all the bells and whistles! No ruts in my life!!!

No problem Ranger. I did entertain the idea of a pellet stove. I really liked the idea, but when I pulled the trigger it was for a regular wood stove. I have plenty of wood to cut and if the power goes out The stove still provides heat unlike the pellet stove that requires electricity.

Yup unless you decide to get your self a small generator or if you have one which would also make a nice addition so you be able to run lights and work on all the cool guns you start building..

cgrutt, Livingston county, about forty miles south of Rochester. All the man made junk will be removed from the 'view' in time, I had to store some of it down there while the construction was going on. The woodland creatures don't seem to mind it though.
a big ole mink wandered through yesterday and the deer bed down sometimes under some hemlocks about fifty yards away.

Well, as Ronald Reagan use to say when he did mouth piece work for General Electric, "Progress is our most important product", Hah, and right now that is the case for me! Stucco'd the walls and got my bench in place. I may not be fast, but I'm pretty slow.

Looks great. Did you buy that bench or make it? I'm not sure which way I want to go for the new shed...

cgrut, I made that bench about thirty-five years ago. Its good New York grown hard rock Maple, and has gone through three or four incarnations over the years, the latest is that I shortened it back to its original design. more suitable for what I do and practical for the space I now have.
Had plenty of time, what with my recent 'exile', and promptly wasted it dude-ing the place up instead of the more meaningful work that would get me back on my bench, but what the hey, sometimes you gotta stop the hunt and mark your turf, HAH!

looks real nice, and you can shoot right out the window as it looks like a decent range.

Don't encourage any ideas of shooting out the windows that he has already had.....
