When I am at the club this weekend I will get a list of public land that is good.

Bad time of year to ask about a good hunting spot.

Most hunters hunt fairly close to roads, go a little deeper, go in early and let the other hunters push deer to you.

Schodack Island state park Shotgun and Muzzleoader only - get away from the rif raft and walk south at least a mile.Youll be away from the parking lot hunters who walk in 300 yards. Stop at the Gate for Parking Permit and hunting pass.. no charge

Schodack Island is pretty small with a bunch of swampy areas. It's narrow and long. Here's the map:

If you hunt there on a weekend you have to pay a parking fee, during the week no parking fee.

Haven't been on the site in a while, so first time reading this.

If you live in Troy and are willing to drive a bit, I would suggest Partridge Run, Margaret Burke, or Thatcher Park ( if you can still get the hunting permit at Thatcher - I think they not issuing anymore at this time until next season -Also, Thatcher is a no rifle park, ML-Shotgun-Bow ).
You didn't mention how you are hunting, bow, ML, Rifle, Shotgun?

Again, sorry for the late reply.
