If your county is not green, call them and urge them to pass legislation prohibiting the state from using the counties seal on any part of the UNSAFE Act.

Gonna make a fair guess and say Nassau County will not be passing any resolutions against the unSAFE act. But ill give em a call regardless.

Was not aware Monroe was on the list. Not sure how I missed that, but great!

The County Clerks' Association has already spoken. Now is the time to email and/or call your town and county reps to tell them you want to see them pass a resolution, if they haven't yet. Remind them this only supports the earlier resolution they already passed. Also, be sure to let them know that now 29 counties have passed resolutions. You can add this link to your email for them to see maps and a list of counties:

Many times resolutions come about because the Clerk or Sherriff requests it from the county legislature. I think calling the clerk is worthwhile even though the clerk association has already spoken out.

P.S. I hope with these county seal resolutions we have a chance at a few of the red counties: Albany, Tompkins, Westchester, Nassau, Suffolk.

Monroe county resolutions aren't a big deal. They write a letter, pass it around, people sign it and then it's mailed. There is no vote.

So I understand the thought behind not letting the state use the seals, but that still doesn't solve the issue of renewing permits. My NYS permit like everyone else has never had an expiration date on it, how will we know when it is time for renewal? Why should we have to renew it? Is this being fought, the counties should make resolutions stating that they are not going to enforce the renewal. That is what they should be doing. How are we going to get around this????
